Meet the Adviser Champions: Video interview with Roderic

23rd June 2017

Advisers are relating to clients better than they ever have done as a result of the Retail Distribution Review, argues Roderic Rennison in our latest Adviser Champions interview.

The Rennison Consulting director gives further credit to the regulator for the improvement in client-adviser relationships for encouraging advisers to do more research before they provide advice.

Advisers are taking more time to consider what clients need and are treating them more individually, he suggests, rather than “rushing out standard solutions”.

Rennison is the latest Adviser Champion to appear in Professional Adviser’s new series of videos, which has most recently featured Chase de Vere’s Patrick Connolly, Embark Group’s Phil Smith and Yellowtail’s Dennis Hall.

He goes on to say advisers could improve the way they deal with clients and offer a greater depth of service by communicating through different mediums.

“We need to look at alternative ways of dealing with clients,” he continues. “Some prefer telephones over meetings, some prefer to be able to deal online, and so it’s a matter of advisers having the means to be able to deal with clients in the way they want to be dealt with in that client’s lifetime. “Where intermediaries do that they have deeper and stickier relationships with clients.”

You can find out more of Rennison’s thoughts on different aspects of the world of financial advice – including how the sector can best go about attracting the next generation of advisers – please watch the video below:
